Inside the artist’s brain 🧠
Once that pencil hits the paper, my inner life is in motion and the wildish woman revealed. My wild and innate instinctual self is retrieved through the beauteous process of pouring thoughts into drawings. Running my very own Denver grown illustration biz — Psychedelicious — has thus far been a treasure trove of experience; a foundation built upon personal passion and the need to relay ecstatic vibrations to others. I desire to give onlookers an experience that exhibits optimism with a realistic nod to the darker depths of the human heart.
[ Sike-eh-delish-uhs ] is described as that tasty space where something is both visually psychedelic & delicious. My work strives to celebrate the individual as well as the symbiosis that exists in communal connectivity. I create themes that revolve around empowerment, psychedelic energy, exploration of the natural world and humankind’s bewilderment with the cosmic universe. I find it imperative for my sanity to micro zoom in on the small things and then zoom out and see the world from outside my own skin.
Under every turned rock & within each hidden crevice is a new treasure awaiting reveal. If you can learn to open the soul’s window and activate your appreciation receptors, you’ll find that life’s most beneficial values are collected in the smallest of forms. Invoking the imagination is one of those “gold coins” poured into the pot of life purpose. I’ve spent years translating my hand drawn illustrations into detail-cut originals, series of high-quality prints and vibrant stickers. I also create custom branded illustrative logos for fellow entrepreneurs seeking to make a statement through my particular style.
My style would best be described as Pop-Surrealism. I find inspiration in all forms; usually in relation to impactful life scenarios. In contrast, I also began to discover a muse within myself and past vibrations instead of seeking it in others. Drawing is a way for me to play out my emotions, like a writer would into a journal. I sketch my concepts, ink over the pencil and then add in stylized detail. I choose to initially draw by hand, knowing that there's something visibly special in the rawness & impermanence that graphite provides. There’s also an intangible presence in this process, even after the digital translation. I create in order to spark a life into the psychedelicious ideas that other’s might fiercely relate to.
As Psychedelicious flows onward, the free-spirited, earth-appreciative, energy-harnessing, goddess-archetype is the persona I wish to exhibit through my art. Thus laying a foundation of narrative for anyone willing to take a closer look. I’ll take depth, multiplicity of spirit and multidimensional humans over flattened products of expectation any day. Creative expression and art appreciation helps us to avoid siphoning our potential into singularity. I’m a hardy advocate of this outlet, and even more grateful to know it’s always been my calling and become my career.

Hello, hello! My name is Lexie Baker. I’ve been creating art since age three when I was discovered on the living room floor snipping up magazine imagery with a pair of tiny pocket-knife scissors. I’ve become a bonafide mountain gal here in Denver, Colorado. With all whimsical notes aside, I’m an illustrative artist at the core who translates all of her original hand-drawn imagery into prints & stickers. I sell my work in various formats in order to live out my creative dreams as my profession. I occasionally dabble in custom projects and mural work, with the purposes of furthering community immersion. You’ll see me hustling at PopUp events and wildin’ at music venues from time to time. Thanks for appreciating my realms of creativity!
